Kanatri discusses improving consular services with Syrian community in U.S.

Washington, Aug. 9 (SANA)Syria’s chargé d’affaires in Washington,Mohammad Kanatri, met members of theSyrian communityin severalU.S. citiesto discuss improving consular services, streamlining procedures and addressing their needs.

Kanatri, accompanied by ConsulAhmad al-Malati, held meetings with Syrians in Louisville, Kentucky; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Chicago, Illinois, the Syrian Embassy said on X on Sunday.

The meetings focused on consular and service-related issues, as well as recent developments and political matters, with discussions also addressing ways to improve services forSyrians living in the United States.

Kanatri stressed the importance of maintaining direct engagement with the Syrian community, listening to their views and proposals, and establishing a sustainable institutional framework for communication and cooperation with Syrians across the country.

He said continued engagement would help improve consular services and strengthen ties with the Syrian community in the United States.

On July 31, Kanatri participated in a roundtable titled “Government Transitionand Building Diplomatic Engagement in Syria,” organized by the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy in partnership with theMiddle East Policy Counciland attended by experts and academics.
