Fire extinguished at Saudi Aramco facility in Jazan, no injuries reported

Riyadh, Aug. 9 (SANA)A fire that broke out at aSaudi Aramco facilityin the southwestern Jazan region early on Sunday was extinguished with no injuries reported,Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministrysaid.

The ministry said on X that Aramco’s industrial security teams brought the fire under control at a facility affiliated with the company’s Jazan refinery.

Authorities were continuing procedures related to the incident, the ministry said, without giving details on the cause of the fire or the extent of any damage.

The incident comes days afterSaudi Aramco President and CEO Amin H. Nassersaid attacks on oil facilities had caused limited disruptions to production.

Nasser said on Aug. 3 that Aramco could restore production to pre-war levels within days and raise output to its maximum sustainable capacity of 12 million barrels per day within three weeks if required.

Saudi Aramco, headquartered in Dhahran, is one of the world’s largest integrated energy and chemicals companies and a major supplier toglobal energy markets.
