Portsmouth took the lead through Adrian Segecic in the 33rd minute beforeCastellanosequalized in the 43rd. Jarrod Bowen put West Ham ahead two minutes later, and Castellanos struck again five minutes after the break to seal the victory.

Elsewhere, Birmingham City defeated Swansea City 1-0, while Millwall advanced on penalties after a 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers.
