Kuwait, Oman seek stronger regional security, safe maritime navigation
Kuwait, Aug. 9 (SANA)Kuwait andOmanstressed Sunday the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to strengthen security and stability in the Gulf region and ensure the safety and freedom of maritime navigation during a phone call between their foreign ministers, according to theKuwaitNews Agency.
KUNA said Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and his Omani counterpart, Badr Albusaidi, reviewed the latest regional developments and conditions during the call.
The two ministers discussed ways to support efforts to maintainregional securityand stability and safeguard freedom of navigation.
Oman on Saturday condemned repeated attacks on ships transiting theStrait of Hormuz, describing them as violations of international law and the sovereignty of territorial waters and as a threat to maritime safety and regional security and stability.
