His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings to the President of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Lawrence Wong, on the occasion of the National Day of Singapore.

In his letter to President Shanmugaratnam, President Dr Muizzu extended warmest congratulations, on behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, to His Excellency, the government and the friendly people of Singapore.

The President expressed hope that Singapore would continue to thrive as a beacon of hope and innovation in the region, and noted that the Maldives highly values the enduring friendship between the two countries, founded on mutual respect, trust and a shared commitment to regional peace and prosperity.

In his letter to Prime Minister Wong, President Dr Muizzu underscored the great importance the Maldives attaches to its close and friendly relations with Singapore, noting that the partnership between the two countries has continued to flourish through cooperation in trade, investment, education, capacity building and people-to-people exchanges.

The President further expressed his eagerness to work closely with Prime Minister Wong to strengthen the long-standing partnership between the two countries and to advance their shared aspirations for peace, stability and sustainable development.

Concluding his letters, President Dr Muizzu conveyed best wishes for the good health and wellbeing of the Singaporean leaders, and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Singapore.
