Clôture de la 3ᵉ session du CNE : Cap sur le renforcement des filières scientifiques et technologiques
Opened on Wednesday August 5, 2026 in Cotonou, the third session of the Consultative Assembly of the National Education Council (CNE) ended on Friday August 7, 2026, with a unanimous call for the strengthening of scientific and technological sectors for the development of Benin. Government authorities, technical and financial partners, representatives of the CNE and civil society actors took part in these three days of intense work. Gathered in workshops, the participants drew up, on this occasion, a lucid diagnosis of the obstacles which still slow down the orientation of students towards scientific and technological disciplines: insufficient infrastructure, inadequate teacher training, weak articulation between establishments and the private sector, and demeaning social images of these sectors. From these findings, concrete proposals emerged, ranging from institutional monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to incentive systems intended for students and families. Among the recommendations are the establishment of sustainable partnerships between establishments, businesses and research centers, the development of local governance programs to support guidance, and the strengthening of initial and continuing training for teachers. The work also recommended impact evaluation systems to measure the effectiveness of the proposed actions and adjust educational policies in real time. In his closing speech, the president of the CNE, Mr. Noël Ahonangnon GBAGUIDI, praised the quality of the exchanges and made a commitment to ensure the execution of the recommendations: “For three days, we cleared all the points registered, and it is to our advantage. The discussions were frank and direct, but always courteous. Important lessons were learned, and relevant, strong recommendations were formulated. I undertake to ensure that they are carried out to the best of my powers.” Mr. GBAGUIDI also underlined the major achievements of the session: the collective awareness of the existential importance of scientific and technological sectors for the country, and the need to maintain, then intensify, the efforts undertaken.

Ouverte le mercredi 5 août 2026 à Cotonou, la troisième session de l’Assemblée consultative du Conseil national de l’éducation (CNE) s’est achevée, le vendredi 7 août 2026, sur un appel unanime au renforcement des filières scientifiques et technologiques pour le développement du Bénin. Autorités gouvernementales, partenaires techniques et financiers, représentants du CNE et acteurs de la société civile ont pris part à ces trois jours de travaux intenses.Réunis en ateliers, les participants ont dressé, à cette occasion, un diagnostic lucide des obstacles qui freinent encore l’orientation des élèves vers les disciplines scientifiques et technologiques : insuffisance d’infrastructures, formation des enseignants inadaptée, faible articulation entre établissements et secteur privé, et images sociales dévalorisantes de ces filières. À partir de ces constats, des propositions concrètes ont émergé, allant de mécanismes institutionnels de suivi et d’évaluation à des dispositifs d’incitation destinés aux élèves et aux familles.Parmi les recommandations figurent la mise en place de partenariats durables entre établissements, entreprises et centres de recherche, l’élaboration de programmes de gouvernance locale pour soutenir l’orientation, et le renforcement des formations initiales et continues des enseignants. Les travaux ont également préconisé des systèmes d’évaluation d’impact pour mesurer l’efficacité des actions proposées et ajuster les politiques éducatives en temps réel.Dans son allocution de clôture, le président du CNE, Monsieur Noël Ahonangnon GBAGUIDI, a salué la qualité des échanges et pris l’engagement de veiller à l’exécution des recommandations : « Pendant trois jours, nous avons vidé tous les points inscrits, et c’est à notre avantage. Les débats étaient francs et directs, mais toujours courtois. Des enseignements importants en ont été tirés, et des recommandations pertinentes, fortes, ont été formulées. Je prends l’engagement de veiller à ce qu’elles soient exécutées dans la mesure de mes pouvoirs ». Monsieur GBAGUIDI a par ailleurs souligné l’acquis majeur de la session : la prise de conscience collective de l’importance existentielle des filières scientifiques et technologiques pour le pays, et la nécessité de maintenir, puis d’intensifier, les efforts engagés.
