Belgrade, Aug 8 (SANA)Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said he sees no way for the Russian-Ukrainian war to end quickly and fears that Ukraine is facing another difficult winter.

Vučić said at a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Belgrade on Saturday that, as a responsible person, he could not make any serious assessments or predictions about whether the war would end soon. He stressed that the entire international community, including Serbia and its people, wanted to see the war end as soon as possible.

According to the Serbian president, he feared that Ukraine was facing another difficult winter, which he said would be particularly challenging for the Ukrainian people but could also affect people around the world to some extent.

At the same time, Vučić said that he hoped the Russian-Ukrainian war would end the following day, although he acknowledged that this was merely a hope unsupported by any real evidence. He added that, frankly, he could not see how such an outcome could happen and stressed that he wanted to be sincere and honest about his assessment.

President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Serbia on August 7. This is Volodymyr Zelensky’s first visit to Serbia during his presidency.
