Unos 46 profesionales se certifican para fortalecer la prevención y la erradicación del trabajo infantil
SantoDomingo.–The National Institute of Professional Technical Training (Infotep), in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and World Vision Dominican Republic, certified 46 professionals who completed the “Children's Law, Prevention and Eradication of Child Labor” diploma.
The diploma is part of the joint efforts promoted by these institutions to strengthen the national response to child labor through the specialized training of professionals linked to the protection of children and adolescents.
During the certificate presentation ceremony, the general director of Infotep, Maira Morla Pineda, highlighted that this training represents much more than an academic achievement, as it constitutes an ethical, professional and human commitment to the construction of a more just, inclusive and supportive society.
"The protection of children constitutes an indicator of the level of development and civility of a society. By receiving their certificates, they are not only accredited in the acquired skills, they also commit to being permanent defenders of the rights and well-being of our children and adolescents," he highlighted.
Morla Pineda said that on this occasion the graduates belong to the Valdesia and Oriental regional directorates of Infotep and recalled that, since 2022, thanks to the alliance of the Inter-institutional Technical Table for the Eradication of Child Labor, nine diploma courses have been developed, with national coverage, of which nearly 200 professionals have benefited.
The Vice Minister of Child Labor and Vulnerable Sectors, Dulce Mercedes Quiñones, stated that to eradicate child labor requires trained professionals, articulated public policies, and decisive action from institutions.
"From this moment on, you become agents of change and the voice of those who still cannot defend their rights. Your mission will be to apply this knowledge to transform realities, raise awareness in communities, monitor work environments, because we have the firm conviction that a world without child labor is possible," said Quiñones.
Likewise, Daniela Romero, representative of World Vision, motivated the graduates to continue fighting for boys and girls, by highlighting that this certificate does not represent the end of a training, but the beginning of a mission, which is to transform the knowledge acquired into concrete actions that protect children.
"Each participant who graduates today expands our collective capacity for protection, by bringing this learning to their communities and organizations, in order to change those ideas that normalize child labor. Our objective is to guarantee that each boy and girl has the right to fully live their childhood," said the representative of the Christian humanitarian aid organization.
For his part, graduate OnelioJuan Pablo thanked Infotep, the Ministry of Labor, World Vision and the other collaborating institutions for promoting training that strengthens the capacities of those who work for children.
“We conclude this stage with the conviction of translating the knowledge acquired into concrete actions from the communities, organizations and institutions in which we are, to contribute to the prevention and eradication of child labor and the effective promotion of the rights of children and adolescents,” Juan Pablo highlighted.
The activity also included the participation of Silvia Denisse Pichardo, director of the Caminantes Project Center, the deputy director of Infotep; Luis Manuel Rodríguez and Arelis Tolentino, representing Luis Beltré, director of Professional Training at Infotep, among other personalities.
The participants completed a training program designed to expand their legal, technical and methodological knowledge regarding the prevention and eradication of child labor, as well as the promotion and comprehensive protection of the rights of children and adolescents.
The diploma lasted 100 hours and nine modules were taught: General introduction to the study of children's rights; National system for the protection and restitution of the rights of children and adolescents; Child labor and its worst forms in the Dominican Republic, and legal framework. Also, National regulatory framework; Criminal justice for adolescents in conflict with the law; Domestic violence, mistreatment, abuse and exploitation; Negligence and violence against children and adolescents, and Parenting with tenderness.
This training program allows participants to play a more effective role in the protection of children and adolescents from their respective roles and generate a positive impact that contributes to confronting the problem of child labor in Dominican society.
Since 2022, through an alliance established in the Inter-institutional Technical Table for the Eradication of Child Labor, nine diploma courses have been carried out with national coverage, benefiting nearly 200 professionals.
With this initiative, the organizing institutions reaffirm their commitment to continue promoting specialized training and inter-institutional coordination as fundamental tools to prevent and eradicate child labor.

Al recibir sus certificados, no solo se les acredita en las competencias adquiridas, también se comprometen a ser defensores permanentes de los derechos y bienestar de nuestros niños, niñas y adolescentes”,resaltó. Morla Pineda dijo que en esta ocasión los egresados pertenecen a las direcciones regionalesValdesiay Orientaldel Infotep y recordó que, desde 2022, gracias a la alianza de laMesa Técnica Interinstitucional para la Erradicación del Trabajo Infantilse han desarrollado nueve diplomados, con cobertura nacional, de los cuales cerca de200 profesionales se han beneficiados. La viceministra de Trabajo Infantil y Sectores Vulnerables,Dulce Mercedes Quiñones,afirmó que para erradicar el trabajo infantil se demanda de profesionales preparados, depolíticas públicas articuladasy de una acción decidida de las instituciones. “A partir de este momento, ustedes se convierten en agentes de cambio y en la voz de aquellos que aún no pueden defender sus derechos. Su misión será aplicar este saber para transformar realidades, sensibilizar a las comunidades, fiscalizar los entornos laborales, porque tenemos la firme convicción de que un mundo sin trabajo infantil es posible”,sostuvo Quiñones. Asimismo,Daniela Romero, representante deWorld Visionmotivó a los graduandos a continuar luchando porlos niños y niñas, al resaltar, que este certificado no representa el final de una formación, sino el inicio de una misión, que estransformar el conocimiento adquirido en acciones concretasque protejan a la niñez. “Cada participante que hoy se gradúa amplía nuestra capacidad colectiva de protección, al llevar estos aprendizajes a sus comunidades y organizaciones, a fin de cambiar aquellas ideas que normalizan el trabajo infantil. Nuestro objetivo es garantizar que cada niño y niña tenga el derecho de vivir plenamente su infancia”,manifestó la representante de la organización cristiana de ayuda humanitaria. Por su lado, el egresadoOnelioJuan Pabloagradeció a Infotep, al Ministerio de Trabajo, a World Vision y a las demás instituciones colaboradoras porimpulsaruna formación quefortalezca las capacidadesde quienes trabajan en favor de la niñez. “Concluimos esta etapa con la convicción de traducir los conocimientos adquiridos en acciones concretas desde sus comunidades, organizaciones e instituciones en la que estemos, para contribuir a la prevención y erradicación del trabajo infantil y a la promoción efectiva de los derechos de la niñez y la adolescencia”,destacó Juan Pablo. Este programa de capacitación permite a los participantes desempeñar unpapel más efectivoen la protección de los niños, las niñas y los adolescentes desde sus respectivos roles y generar unimpacto positivoque contribuya a enfrentar la problemática del trabajo infantil en la sociedad dominicana. Desde el año 2022, a través de una alianza establecida en laMesa Técnica Interinstitucional para la Erradicación del Trabajo Infantilse han llevado a cabo nueve diplomados con cobertura nacional, beneficiando a cerca de200 profesionales. Con esta iniciativa, las instituciones organizadoras reafirman su compromiso de continuar promoviendo laformación especializada y la articulacióninterinstitucionalcomo herramientas fundamentales paraprevenir y erradicarel trabajo infantil.
