Comedores comunitarios de la Dasac garantizan alimentación de voluntarios y personal de los XXV Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe
Santo Domingo.- The president of the Organizing Committee of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, José Monegro, described as fundamental the support provided by the Community Kitchens of the Directorate of Social Assistance and Community Food (Dasac), an institution that guarantees daily more than 8,000 servings of food to volunteer staff, support teams and security agencies that participate in the assembly and development of the regional sports event.
Monegro highlighted the quick response of the general director of Dasac, Edgar Augusto Féliz Arbona, after the Organizing Committee required support to strengthen the feeding scheme for the staff working in the organization of the games.
"We needed to immediately cover the feeding of volunteers, support staff and security. We contacted Edgar Féliz and the response was immediate. He mobilized his entire team and gave us extraordinary support that allowed us to address a fundamental need for the success of the event," he expressed.
He highlighted the quality of the service and food served to the support staff at these international games. “The quality of the service and food served in the community kitchens have nothing to envy of a private company,” he highlighted.
Through its Community Dining Rooms, Dasac provides breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the day of the games, guaranteeing timely and quality food to more than 2,000 people involved in the operation of each of the spaces established for the competition.
For his part, the director of Dasac, Edgar Augusto Féliz Arbona, declared that, by order of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, the Dasac Community Kitchens were made available to the Organizing Committee chaired by José Monegro.
He stated that the institution assumed the mission with the same commitment that characterizes the social programs promoted by the nation's first president and its always-long commitment to the national sports movement.
"When it comes to serving the country, at Dasac we act without delay. From the first moment we made our community kitchens, kitchen equipment and technical staff available to guarantee the nutrition of those who made possible this great sporting event that has been a success for our athletes," said Féliz Arbona.
He maintained that each assistance is a sample of the human and supportive vision of the president, who has instructed to be present where there is a need and to support all initiatives that contribute to the development and pride of the Dominican Republic.
The XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 bring together more than 6,200 athletes from the region, becoming the edition with the largest participation in the history of the event and projecting the country as the scene of major international sporting events.

Afirmó que la institución asumió la misióncon el mismo compromisoque caracteriza losprogramas socialesimpulsados por el primer mandatario de la nación y su compromiso desde siempre con el movimiento deportivo nacional. “Cuando se trata de servir al país, en Dasac actuamos sin demora. Desde el primer momento pusimos a disposición nuestros comedores comunitarios, equipos de cocina y personal técnico para garantizar la alimentación de quienes hacían posible este gran evento deportivo que ha sido todo un éxito para nuestros atletas”,manifestó Féliz Arbona.
