Qasioun Club tops standings as Damascus Judo Championship concludes
Damascus, 7 Aug. (SANA)The Damascus Governorate Judo Championship for cadets and juniors (boys and girls) concluded at the Judo Hall in al-Fayhaa Sports City, with the participation of 57 male and female athletes representing seven clubs.The championship was organized by the Judo Subcommittee under the supervision ofthe Damascus Directorate of Sports and Youth.Qasioun Club topped the overall standings after winning eight gold medals, one silver medal, and three bronze medals. Al-Nidal Club finished second with three gold medals, three silver medals, and two bronze medals.Damascus al-Ahli Club secured third place with two gold medals and one silver medal, while Barada Club came fourth with one gold medal and three silver medals.Police Club ranked fifth with one gold medal, two silver medals, and three bronze medals. Maysaloun Club finished sixth with four silver medals and one bronze medal, followed by Dummar Club in seventh place with one silver medal and one bronze medal.The championship is part of the Damascus Judo Subcommittee’s plan to expand participation in the sport, develop the skills of younger age groups, and identify outstanding athletes to strengthen the national teams ahead of upcoming competitions.
