Presidente Mulino llega a Colombia para investidura de Abelardo de la Espriella y reimpulsar las relaciones bilaterales
The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, arrived this Friday in the sister Republic of Colombia as a guest of honor for the inauguration of its new president, Abelardo de la Espriella, and with a view to strengthening cooperation in matters of security and trade between both nations.
“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Panama and its people, I express to Colombia what we have always said: brotherhood, neighborliness and a lot of cooperation,” said President Mulino, after arriving at the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón Airport, in the city of Cali.
The Panamanian president traveled accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Javier Martínez-Acha; of Commerce and Industries, Julio Moltó; and from Public Security, Frank Ábrego. He was received with honors by senior officials of the Government of Colombia and by the ambassador of Panama, Mario Boyd Galindo.
“I wish President De la Espriella much success in the mandate that begins today and, as good neighbors, we put all cooperation at his disposal,” Mulino stated before the international press.
Mulino will hold a meeting with De la Espriella at the Culture Center at 11:30 in the morning. The Minister of Security will accompany him.
The investiture ceremony will take place this afternoon at the USC Arena, at the University of Cali.

El presidente de la República, José Raúl Mulino, llegó este viernes a la hermana República de Colombia como invitado de honor a la toma de posesión de su nuevo presidente, Abelardo de la Espriella, y con miras a estrechar la cooperación en materia de seguridad y comercio entre ambas naciones. “En nombre del Gobierno de la República de Panamá y su pueblo expreso a Colombia lo que siempre hemos dicho: hermandad, vecindad y mucha cooperación”, expresó el presidente Mulino, tras llegar al Aeropuerto Alfonso Bonilla Aragón, en la ciudad de Cali. El mandatario panameño viajó acompañado de los ministros de Relaciones Exteriores, Javier Martínez-Acha; de Comercio e Industrias, Julio Moltó; y de Seguridad Pública, Frank Ábrego. Fue recibido con honores por altos funcionarios del Gobierno de Colombia y por el embajador de Panamá, Mario Boyd Galindo. “Deseo al presidente De la Espriella muchos éxitos en el mandato que hoy inicia y, como buenos vecinos, ponemos a su disposición toda la cooperación”, manifestó Mulino ante la prensa internacional. Mulino sostendrá a las 11:30 de la mañana una reunión con De la Espriella en el Centro de Cultura. Lo acompañará el ministro de Seguridad. La ceremonia de investidura tendrá lugar esta tarde en la Arena USC, en la Universidad de Cali.
