During the discussions, the parties explored additional design work for the facility that employs dry cooling technology and examined the potential for substantially boosting local production. It was highlighted that these technologies align completely with the country’s approach to the efficient use of water resources.
The parties confirmed that the project is now in the final phase of negotiations and expressed their willingness to proceed with cooperation to promote the sustainable development of nuclear energy in Uzbekistan.
According to the Agency, the parties are working together under a Memorandum of Understanding. This document outlines initiatives such as implementing dry cooling technologies, localizing production, training highly skilled specialists, and applying modern technologies suited to Uzbekistan’s climate at nuclear power plants of different sizes.
