One killed, 22 injured in road crashes; Civil Defense extinguishes 110 fires
Damascus, 7 Aug. (SANA)One person was killed and 22 others injured in 20road crashesacrossSyriaover the past 24 hours, whileSyrian Civil Defenseteams responded to 110 fires, the Civil Defense said on Friday.The Civil Defense said its teams provided first aid to those injured and transported them to hospitals for further treatment. They also cleared debris from the crash sites and secured the affected areas.
The teams responded to 110fires, including one involving fields and crops. The remaining incidents involved homes, commercial shops, grass, trees, garbage, and electrical wires. All fires were extinguished and their sites cooled, with no civilian injuries reported and damage limited to property.
The Civil Defense urged the public to avoid lighting fires in forests and agricultural areas, throwing cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, particularly near crops and wooded areas, and burning dry grass around homes or along roads. It also called for dry vegetation to be cleared using safe methods.The previous day, Civil Defense teams responded to fires and road crashes across Syria in which two people were killed and 30 others injured.
