The parties discussed training Uzbekistan’s nurses to meet U.S. healthcare standards, including certification, licensing, and their lawful employment in U.S. healthcare facilities.

Information was provided regarding efforts in Uzbekistan to regulate external labor migration, establish centralized cooperation with foreign employers, deliver targeted training for specialists, and safeguard their rights and legitimate interests.

Korn Ferry representatives highlighted the U.S. healthcare system’s shortage of English-speaking allied clinical and technical specialists with adequate training to meet licensing requirements. They agreed to jointly examine the most needed specialties, candidate qualifications, and criteria, as well as to compare nurse training systems in both countries. The project should start with a small pilot group and, based on initial results and U.S. employers’ needs, gradually broaden the employment program for Uzbekistan’s nurses in the U.S.
