On July 27 of this year, the Head of State chaired a meeting on priority issues in the fuel and energy sector. The meeting critically reviewed work on managing the sector, ensuring the stability of electricity and gas supply at the local level, and reducing the number of accidents and energy losses.

In particular, tasks were set to organize electricity and gas supply at the district and mahalla levels, develop regional energy balances, conduct an inventory of networks and equipment, ensure thorough preparations for the autumn-winter period, and promote the widespread adoption of digital technologies and artificial intelligence.

During the presentation, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the ongoing work and plans of the newly appointed leadership of the Ministry of Energy, Regional Electric Networks JSC, and Uzenergyinspection for implementing these instructions.

In particular, a special headquarters is currently operating in Yangiyul district to improve electricity and gas supply. It is holding open dialogues with entrepreneurs and residents, directly reviewing appeals related to power outages, insufficient electricity capacity, low gas pressure, obtaining technical specifications, and outstanding debts.

Based on the Yangiyul experience, it is planned to establish such a model system in 13 additional districts and subsequently introduce it in other regions.

Measures are also being strengthened to ensure the legality and transparency of issuing technical specifications for connecting businesses to electricity and gas networks, as well as to prevent corruption.

As part of preparations for the autumn-winter period, work is underway to upgrade problematic networks and equipment, reduce energy losses, improve energy efficiency, and eliminate the causes of emergency outages. In addition, mechanisms are being developed to communicate instructions to industry personnel through an electronic system, monitor their implementation, and evaluate performance based on specific indicators.

The Ministry of Energy has been tasked with establishing a unified and effective sector management system, coordinating the activities of sector enterprises, ensuring the timely implementation of investment projects, and systematically organizing preparations for the autumn-winter period.

Regional Electric Networks JSC has been instructed to increase the stability of electricity supply at the local level, gradually modernize infrastructure, reduce emergency outages, and improve service quality.

Uzenergyinspection has been tasked with strengthening oversight of the efficient use of energy resources, ensuring compliance with technical requirements, reducing losses, and accelerating energy audits of major consumers.

Particular attention was also given to preparations for the autumn-winter period in mahallas with limited gas supply capacity, expanding private sector participation in the supply of liquefied gas, and leveraging artificial intelligence to monitor processes across the sector.

The Head of State instructed the responsible officials to implement all measures based on a targeted approach and precise calculations, and to ensure a stable supply of electricity and gas to the population and the economy.
