Riyadh, Aug. 6 (SANA)Foreign ministers from eightArab and Islamic countrieson Thursday condemned continuing Israeli violations in theGazaStrip, saying they constitute serious breaches of international law and undermine efforts to secure a lasting ceasefire.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Jordan, Qatar and Egypt said the ongoing violations represented a clear breach of Israel’s obligations under international law and the comprehensive plan to end the aggression in Gaza.

They said the violations also jeopardize international and regional efforts to implement the second phase of the plan.

The ministers called on the international community, particularly theU.N.Security Council, to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by taking effective measures to ensure Israel complies with its obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2803.

They also urged accountability for those responsible for serious violations, saying such measures would help protect civilians, preserve the prospects for completing implementation of the agreement and achieve a permanent ceasefire.

The ministers reiterated their categorical rejection of any attempts to annex the occupied Palestinian territories, impose Israeli sovereignty over them or forcibly displace the Palestinian people.

They said a just and comprehensive peace can only be achieved through a credible political process leading to the implementation of thetwo-state solution, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Separately, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned on Wednesday of escalating Israeli attacks on schools and educational facilities in the Gaza Strip, stressing that such sites must be protected under international humanitarian law.
