Government reinstates 572 dismissed public employees in Raqqa
Raqqa, Aug. 6 (SANA)The Ministry of Local Administration and Environment has announced the reinstatement of 572 public-sector employees in Raqqa Governorate who were dismissed because of their participation in the Syrian Revolution.According to a decision issued byMinister of Local Administration and Environment Mohammad Anjrani, the employees will return to their previous posts at the Raqqa Governorate General Secretariat, affiliated institutions and local administrative units, or be assigned to other positions as required in the public interest.The Raqqa Media Directorate said on its Telegram channel on Thursday that the employees will initially be appointed under temporary contracts in accordance with Law No. 53 of 2021, effective from the date they resume work.The measure will remain in effect until a legislative decree regulating the status of employees dismissed during the Syrian Revolution is issued and their employment and financial rights are settled.The decision assigns theRaqqa GovernorateGeneral Secretariat responsibility for completing reinstatement procedures, signing employment contracts, implementing the necessary measures to enforce the decision, and verifying the eligibility of employees covered by the measure.The announcement follows a press conference held on Wednesday, during which Minister Anjrani said the government had launched a nationwide programme to reinstate public-sector employees dismissed because of their participation in theSyrian Revolution.According to the minister, 6,520 of the 8,014 dismissed employees nationwide have so far been reinstated, representing 81 percent of the total. The remaining 1,494 employees have not yet submitted the documents required to complete the reinstatement process.F.J./M.F.
