President and First Lady conclude trip to AA. Ukulhas and return to Male’06 August 2026

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have concluded their trip to AA. Ukulhas and returned to Malé.

Upon arrival on the island, the President and First Lady were warmly welcomed by members of the Ukulhas Island Council, heads of institutions, and island residents. They were accompanied by Cabinet Ministers, senior Government officials, and representatives of state-owned enterprises.

During his visit, the President attended the closing session of the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) Symposium and the opening of the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) Global Summit. Speaking at the session, the President called for continued investment in integrity, accountability, transparency, innovation and genuine partnership, stating that these principles will ensure future generations inherit more resilient states, stronger democracies, healthier economies and more hopeful societies

The President also met with members of the Ukulhas Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC). During the visit, the President inaugurated the new volleyball court in AA. Ukulhas and participated in the ceremony to commence construction of the Sports Complex. The President and First Lady also took part in a tree-planting ceremony under the 5 Million Trees Planting Programme in AA. Ukulhas.
