The project’s main feature is the integration of an AI module into the satellite, created by Uzcosmos Agency experts. This technology enables data to be processed directly in orbit, greatly accelerating analysis and minimizing the data transfer requirements.

The satellite’s name is linked to the holding of the 79th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2028) in Samarkand.

Shukhrat Qodirov, Director of the Uzcosmos Agency, stated that Samarkand 2028 showcased the country’s capability in developing space technologies.

The potential applications of space technologies are growing in areas such as agriculture, water management, ecology, natural resource monitoring, emergency prevention, and urban planning.
