Two killed, 30 injured in traffic accidents and fires across Syria over past 24 hours

Damascus, Aug. 6 (SANA)Two people were killed and 30 others injured in traffic accidents and fires across Syria during the past 24 hours, as emergency teams from theCivil Defense Directorateat the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management responded to incidents in several provinces.The Civil Defense Directorate said on its Telegram channel on Thursday that its teams responded to 27traffic accidents,which resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to 27 civilians.Emergency responders provided first aid at the scene before transferring the injured to hospitals for treatment. Teams also cleared accident debris and secured the affected locations.Civil Defense teams also responded to 133 fires across Syria. The incidents resulted in three injuries including two firefighters and one civilian. The injured received first aid, while the civilian was transferred to Jisr al-Shughur Hospital for further treatment. The remaining damage was limited to material losses.The Civil Defense Directorate urged residents not to lightfiresin forested areas or agricultural fields, avoid discarding cigarette butts or glass bottles along roadsides particularly near farmland and wooded areas and refrain from burning dry grass around homes or roads. It called on the public to remove dry vegetation using safe methods to help reduce the risk of fires.
