Today, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Vice-President of the Swiss Confederation, the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ignacio Cassis, who chairs the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. The Vice-President of the Swiss Confederation, the head of the foreign policy office, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the hospitality, expressed his great interest in strengthening the fruitful relations with Turkmenistan, which implements the policy aimed at ensuring world peace and sustainable development, and highly appreciated the initiatives of the country to expand international cooperation. The guest also noted that the beautiful architectural image of Ashgabat city, Avaza National Tourism Zone, was very impressive. Thanking the President for his kind words, he noted that this visit is considered an important stage in the development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Swiss Confederation. In this regard, our country attaches great importance to coordinating efforts within the framework of the OSCE. The Turkmen leader noted the effective nature of the relations between our country and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and said that the activities are being carried out on the basis of cooperation programs jointly prepared by the Government of Turkmenistan and the Ashgabat Center of this organization. Emphasizing that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to ensuring human rights and democratic principles at the state level, the President of Turkmenistan said that in order to continue relevant work in this field and to study international practice, the country considers it appropriate to promote cooperation within the framework of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. His Excellency President confirmed that he is ready to expand cooperation with the OSCE. His Excellency President emphasized the effective relations between Turkmenistan and the Swiss Confederation, and said that the country is interested in the continuous development of bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian fields, and that it is ready to consider the specific proposals of the Swiss side in this regard. He also took the opportunity to congratulate Inosio Cassis and all the people of the country on the occasion of the recently celebrated Swiss National Day. "We have positive conditions for developing cooperation in such areas as ensuring safe and reliable delivery of energy resources to world markets, creating conditions for sustainable economic development, full use of our transport capabilities, environmental protection, and planned use of water resources," the Turkmen leader said, and confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to expand cooperation with the OSCE in order to ensure peace and development in the world in the future.

The President emphasized the effective relations between Turkmenistan and the Swiss Confederation, expressed the country's interest in the continuous development of bilateral cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian fields, and was ready to consider the specific proposals of the Swiss side in this regard.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the congratulations, the guest noted that Turkmenistan's foreign policy is a world model and confirmed that Switzerland attaches great importance to the further development of mutual cooperation.
