Ottawa, Aug. 5 (SANA)Fast-moving wildfires inwestern Canadahave destroyed about 230 homes in an Indigenous community, marking one of the most destructive wildfire events in the country in recent years.According to the Associated Press, Okanagan Indian Band Chief Dan Wilson said the Bradley Creek Fire caused extensive damage to the reserve near Vernon, British Columbia, located about 440 kilometers northeast of Vancouver.Wilson said the scale of the destruction was so severe that the area was difficult to recognize from the air after buildings and surrounding forests were destroyed by the flames.Canada has been facing a series of major wildfires, including fires in and aroundToronto, where flames burned about 735,000 hectares late last month, compared with about 650,000 hectares previously. Air quality levels have since improved across much of the affected region.
