welcome congratulations a very tough job we as ben africans have been living at africa's unity starting from our founding fathers those extraordinary personalities the first wave of african leaders we didn't fulfill all the requirements they even inserted but we moved now to higher heights that lead us to common african approach development so welcome to namibia thank you very much your excellency the president i am very very happy to be here and thank you for receiving me and my my colleagues my senior advisor peter sawarno and assistant someone would i wanted to come to personally express my gratitude to you your excellency the government of namibia for supporting my candidacy and my election last year so i am truly honored to to have namibia as a strong supporter in this region when it comes to matters of principle on trade policy namibia always stands on principle as opposed to expediency i want also excellence if i may congratulate namibia on the the really excellent work in infrastructure development i was taken on a tour of namport madam deputy executive director took me on the tour of namport and they explained to me how the port the facility there is going to and is actually in the process of supporting the region particularly landlocked countries in the region and this of course when i go to the rest of the continent i will point to it and i will say you see trade facilitation is already happening and trade facilitation that supports the afcfta is already happening infrastructure development is happening and we have seen it in in namibia and so this is a a great deal of source of encouragement for me your excellency to to see the great strides that namibia has taken in infrastructure development we are now excellency of course we we now have 37 countries that have ratified the agreement establishing the afcfta and we therefore in the secretariat are determined and certainly i am determined to make sure that that we succeed and so in order for us to succeed i believe we have to do a number of things first we have to make sure that in implementation of this agreement that the benefits are shared thank you very much for your presentation with your leadership i think you're going to need us to move on in the right direction you just realize africa you
