විද්‍යා සහ තාක්ෂණ අමාත්‍යාංශයෙන් 2026 වසරේදී ක්‍රියාත්මක ව්‍යාපෘතිවල ප්‍රගති‍ය සමාලෝචනයට සහ 2027 පූර්ව අයවැය සාකච්ඡාවකට අද (05) ජනාධිපති කාර්යාලයේදී එක්වීමි. පොදු ජනතාවගේ ජීවන තත්ත්වය, පහසු සහ උසස් කිරීමටත්, ජාතික ආර්ථිකය නංවාලීමටත්, නව විද්‍යාත්මක පර්යේෂණ සෘජුව දායක කරගත යුතු බව පැහැදිලි කළෙමි. පර්යේෂණ සහ සංවර්ධන ක්ෂේත්‍රය ලොව විශාලම ආදායම් උපයන රාජ්‍ය බිහිවීමට ඉවහල් වූ බවත්, මිනිස් අවශ්‍යතා සපුරා ගන්නා ආකාරය වෙනස් වන්නේ පර්යේෂණ සහ සංවර්ධනය මගින් බවත් සඳහන් කරමින්, අනාගත ලෝකය ජයගත හැක්කේ එය නිසි ලෙස හඳුනාගන්නා අයට බවද පෙන්වා දුන්නෙමි. ජනතාවගේ දෛනික අවශ්‍යතා සපුරාලීමට සහ ආදායම් වැඩි කර ගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය තොරතුරු සහ දත්ත ලබා දීමේ ක්‍රමවේදයක අවශ්‍යතාවද අවධාරණය කළෙමි. එහිදී විද්‍යා සහ තාක්ෂණ අමාත්‍යාංශය මගින් ලබා දිය හැකි දායකත්වය පිළිබඳවද විමසා බැලීමි. විද්‍යා සහ තාක්ෂණ අමාත්‍යාංශය යටතේ ඇති ආයතන මගින් කෘෂිකර්ම, කර්මාන්ත, සංචාරක සහ ආපදා කළමනාකරණය වැනි ක්ෂේත්‍රවලට අදාළව ක්‍රියාත්මක කර ඇති පර්යේෂණ සහ සංවර්ධන ව්‍යාපෘති පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී දීර්ඝ ලෙස සාකච්ඡාවට ලක් කෙරිණි. ஜனாதிபதி அலுவலகத்தில் இன்று (05) நடைபெற்ற, விஞ்ஞான மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப அமைச்சின் 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான திட்டங்களின் முன்னேற்ற மீளாய்வு மற்றும் 2027 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான வரவு செலவுத்திட்ட பூர்வாங்க கலந்துரையாடலில் கலந்துகொண்டேன். பொதுமக்களின் வாழ்க்கைத்தரத்தை எளிதாக்கவும் மேம்படுத்தவும், தேசிய பொருளாதாரத்தை முன்னேற்றுவதற்கும் புதிய விஞ்ஞான ஆராய்ச்சிகள் நேரடியாகப் பங்காற்ற வேண்டும் என்பதை விளக்கினேன். உலகளவில் அதிக வருவாய் ஈட்டும் நாடுகளை உருவாக்குவதற்கு ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் அபிவிருத்தித் துறை பெரும் பங்காற்றியுள்ளது என்றும், மனிதத் தேவைகளைப் பூர்த்தி செய்யும் முறையை ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் மேம்பாடே மாற்றியமைக்கிறது எனக் குறிப்பிட்டதுடன், எதிர்கால உலகை வெல்லக்கூடியவர்கள் அதனைச் சரியாகப் புரிந்துகொள்பவர்களே என்றும் சுட்டிக்காட்டினேன். மக்களின் அன்றாடத் தேவைகளைப் பூர்த்தி செய்வதற்கும், அவர்களின் வருமானத்தை அதிகரிப்பதற்கும் தேவையான தகவல்கள் மற்றும் தரவுகளை வழங்குவதற்கான ஒரு பொறிமுறையின் அவசியத்தையும் வலியுறுத்தினேன். இதன்போது, விஞ்ஞான மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப அமைச்சினால் வழங்கப்படக்கூடிய பங்களிப்புகள் குறித்தும் ஆராயப்பட்டது. விஞ்ஞான மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப அமைச்சின் கீழ் உள்ள நிறுவனங்களால் விவசாயம், கைத்தொழில், சுற்றுலா மற்றும் அனர்த்த முகாமைத்துவம் போன்ற துறைகள் தொடர்பில் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டு வரும் ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் அபிவிருத்தி திட்டங்கள் குறித்து இங்கு விரிவாகக் கலந்துரையாடப்பட்டது. I attended a meeting at the Presidential Secretariat today (05) to review the progress of projects implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology during 2026 and to discuss its 2027 pre-budget proposals. During the meeting, I emphasised that new scientific research and technological innovation must be harnessed to improve the quality of life of the people and drive national economic growth. I noted that investment in research and development (R&D) has enabled many countries to become leading global economies and that R&D continues to transform the way human needs are met. I also stressed that those who recognise and embrace this reality will be best positioned to succeed in the future. Further highlighted the need to establish an effective mechanism to provide people with the information and data required to meet their daily needs and enhance their income-generating opportunities. In this regard, I reviewed the contribution that the Ministry of Science and Technology could make towards achieving this objective. The meeting also included extensive discussions on research and development initiatives undertaken by institutions under the Ministry in key sectors, including agriculture, industry, tourism and disaster management.
