Three killed, 21 injured in traffic accidents across Syria in 24 hours
Damascus, Aug.5 (SANA)Three people were killed and 21 others injured intraffic accidentsduring the past 24 hours across Syria, afterSyrian Civil Defense teamsresponded to incidents in several provinces, according to the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management.
The Syrian Civil Defense said Wednesday through its Telegram channel that its teams responded to 18 traffic accidents, which resulted in the deaths of three people and injuries to 21 others.
Emergency responders provided first aid at the scenes before transferring the injured to hospitals for necessary treatment. The teams also removed the aftermath of the accidents and secured the affected locations.
The Syrian Civil Defense advised drivers to reduce speed, ensure vehicles are in good technical condition, check braking systems and windshield wipers, and avoid behaviors that distract attention while driving, including mobile phone use.
The teams also responded to 140fires across Syria,including one fire affecting fields and agricultural crops, and 139 separate fires involving homes, commercial shops, grass, trees, rubbish and electrical wiring.
The Syrian Civil Defense said its teams extinguished the fires and cooled the affected sites. No civilian injuries were reported, while damage was limited to property losses.
The Civil Defense urged the public not to start fires in forested areas or agricultural fields, discard cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, especially near crops and forests, or burn dry grass around homes and roads.
It also advised residents to remove dry vegetation through safe methods to reduce fire risks.
Four people were killed and 20 others injured the day before yesterday in fires and traffic accidents to which Civil Defense teams responded across Syria.
