Syria, Algeria to boost economic and industrial cooperation

Damascus, Aug. 5 (SANA)Syria and Algeria discussed on Wednesday ways to developeconomic relationsbetween the two countries in a way that contributes to enhancing industrial and trade integration.President of Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry,Mazen Derwan, and Algerian Ambassador in Damascus Abdelkader Kacimi El-Hassani and his assistant Mohamed Behloul.The Federation posted on its Telegram channel on Wednesday that the two sides touched on a number of practical proposals to activate cooperation, including holding exhibitions for Algerian industries in Syria and also Syrian ones in Algeria, in addition to organizing forums bringing together businessmen from both countries.Ambassador al-Hassani expressed readiness to provide all necessary facilitations to ensure the success of these events.He stressed Algeria’s aspiration to establish economic relations withSyriabased on a new vision, underscoring the importance of forming a Syrian-AlgerianBusiness Council from both sides.

He also proposed organizing a Syrian-Algerian Business Forum to discuss opportunities for cooperation in various economic fields.

The talks come as a part of efforts exerted to enhance economic cooperation between Syria and Algeria, expand partnerships between private sector institutions in both countries and open new horizons for investment and industrial cooperation.
