The event was organized by the Association of Producers of Vegetable Oils (APVO) in collaboration with the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC).
For the first time, the capital has brought together heads of associations representing the oils and fats industries of Malaysia, China, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, along with representatives of government agencies, the diplomatic corps, the academic community, and specialists from major companies.
Oybek Zufarov, Chairman of the Association of Producers of Vegetable Oils of Uzbekistan and a Doctor of Technical Sciences, spoke at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the need to expand international cooperation and introduce innovative solutions in the sector.
The conference addresses food security, the efficient and safe use of palm oil, modern production technologies, innovation, and further development of industry cooperation among Central Asian countries.
As noted, palm oil is consumed in more than 150 countries and accounts for nearly one-third of the world’s vegetable oil production. It is used in chocolate, bakery and confectionery products, dairy products, baby food, and cosmetics.
Experts highlight that the product’s effect on human health mainly relies on its quality, processing methods, storage conditions, and staying within recommended usage limits.
