Syria’s Jousieh border crossing records 625,000 travelers in 2026
Homs, Aug. 4 (SANA)About 625,000 travelers have crossed the Jousieh border crossing betweenSyriaandLebanonsince the beginning of 2026, according to a statement posted Monday by the General Authority for Borders and Customs on its Telegram channel.The authority said the crossing had received approximately 150,000 Syrian citizens who voluntarily returned home during the same period. It added that administrative procedures had been streamlined while personnel continued to provide services to facilitate the completion of travel formalities and ensure the smooth movement of passengers.According to the authority, specialized teams have worked to facilitate travelers’ entry procedures and provide the assistance and services needed to ensure an orderly and safe reception.The authority said it is continuing to implement plans to improve the performance and operational readiness of border crossings by simplifying procedures, enhancing staff efficiency and upgrading services. It added that these efforts are intended to facilitate the movement of travelers and returnees while supporting trade and transport between Syria and Lebanon.On July 6, the authority said that 522,000 travelers had crossed throughJousiehduring the first half of 2026, including 331,000 arrivals to Syria and 191,000 departures.
