Engineering teams destroy 1,500 landmines left by ousted regime in Damascus Countryside
Damascus, Aug. 4 (SANA)TheEngineering Directorateat Syria’sMinistry of Defensedestroyed 1,500landmineson Monday that had been planted by the deposed regime in a minefield near Qarah in theDamascus countryside,as part of ongoing efforts to remove war remnants left by the former regime and enhance civilian safety.
ASANAreporter said the operation was carried out using technical procedures and safety measures designed to eliminate hazardous explosive devices that pose a threat to residents and reduce the risk of accidental detonations.
The operation is intended to help secure the area and prepare it for the restoration of normal life.
The destruction of the landmines in Qarah is part of a series of operations conducted by engineering teams across several Syrian provinces to remove war remnants, reduce the risks they pose to civilians and support the return of normal life.
