Director del SNS ordena eliminar trabas en la atención a los pacientes del Hospital Jacinto Ignacio Mañón
Santo Domingo.- In an unscheduled visit to the Dr. Jacinto Ignacio Mañón Municipal Hospital, in the Los Girasoles sector of the National District, the executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), Dr. Julio Landrón, toured the main areas of the center and established a series of measures aimed at strengthening the quality of care and guaranteeing more dignified and timely treatment for users.
Since his arrival at the hospital, Landrón made it clear that access to health services cannot be conditioned by administrative barriers. In the information area, he ordered the immediate prohibition of any collection from subsidized patients and ordered that no person be stopped from being treated for not carrying their identity card.
"By order of President Luis Abinader, subsidized patients are not charged a single peso. That is illegal. Furthermore, no patient can be rejected due to lack of ID," he emphasized during the tour.
Accompanied by the director of the hospital, Dr. Cristóbal Encarnación, he visited the areas of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Consultations, Laboratory,
During the inspection, the head of the SNS ordered the removal of the signage that identified an area as restricted, considering that this measure could affect the dignity of patients with infectious diseases.
He explained that these users must receive respectful treatment without stigmatization, while clinical management must be guided by a specialist in epidemiology, who will establish the corresponding protocol according to the condition of each patient.
As part of the immediate actions, he ordered the creation of a mini-intensive unit with two beds to strengthen the hospital's response capacity to patients who require specialized surveillance.
Likewise, he ordered the air conditioning of the waiting areas to guarantee greater comfort to users and their families. Likewise, he announced that the Dr. Jacinto Ignacio Mañón Municipal Hospital will undergo a comprehensive renovation process, whose work is scheduled to begin at the end of this year.
Dr. Landron also highlighted that the Jacinto Ignacio Mañón Hospital has become the 97th hospital with zero debt during the current management of the National Health Service.
During the visit, the director of the hospital, Dr. Cristóbal Encarnación, presented the progress achieved by management and explained the initiatives being developed to continue offering health services with quality, opportunity and warmth to the population.
The visit concluded with the commitment of the executive director of the SNS to follow up on the provisions adopted, as part of the institutional strategy of permanent supervision and strengthening of the hospitals of the Public Health Network.

Acompañado por el director del hospital, doctorCristóbal Encarnación, visitó las áreas de Ginecología y Obstetricia, Consultas, Laboratorio, Rayos X, Internamiento, Recién Nacidos, Sala de Parto, Quirófano y Cocina, dondeconversó con médicos, enfermeras, bioanalistas y demás colaboradorespara conocer de primera mano lasnecesidadesdel centro. Durante la inspección, el titular del SNS ordenó retirar la señalización que identificaba un área como restringida, al considerar que esamedida puede afectar la dignidad de los pacientes con enfermedades infectocontagiosas. Explicó que estos usuarios deben recibir untrato respetuoso y sin estigmatización, mientras que el manejo clínico debe estar guiado por unespecialista en epidemiología,quien establecerá elprotocolo correspondientesegún la condición de cada paciente. Como parte de las acciones inmediatas, dispuso la habilitación de unaunidad de miniintensivocon dos camas para fortalecer lacapacidad de respuestadel hospital ante pacientes que requieranvigilancia especializada. Asimismo, ordenó laclimatización de las áreas de esperapara garantizar mayor confort a los usuarios y sus familiares. De igual forma, anunció que el Hospital Municipal Dr. Jacinto Ignacio Mañón será sometido a unproceso de remozamiento integral, cuyos trabajos están programados para iniciar afinales de este año. El doctor Landron también destacó que el Hospital Jacinto Ignacio Mañón se ha convertido en elhospital número 97 con cero deudasdurante la actual gestión del Servicio Nacional de Salud. Durante la visita, el director del hospital, doctorCristóbal Encarnación, presentó losavances alcanzados por la gestióny explicó las iniciativas que se desarrollan para continuar ofreciendoservicios de salud con calidad, oportunidad y calidez a la población.
