OIC condemns continued Israeli violations in occupied Palestinian territory
Riyadh, Aug. 4 (SANA)The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Tuesday condemned Israel’s continued violations in the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly attacks targeting health facilities, residential areas and shelters for displaced people in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the OIC General Secretariat said the attacks had resulted in dozens of civilian casualties and constituted serious violations of international law, including international humanitarian law.
The organization also warned against escalating Israeli settlement activity and organized violence by Israeli settlers, carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces across the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. It called for decisive international action to halt the violations and hold those responsible accountable.
The OIC reiterated the need for Israeli authorities to comply with its obligations under the ceasefire agreement and begin implementing the second phase of the peace plan in line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803. It said the process should include reopening all border crossings, ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces.
The organization also called for preserving the unity of the Palestinian territory and enabling the Palestinian government to assume its responsibilities, including in the Gaza Strip.
The statement came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that an agreement had been reached to implement a new phase of his plan to end the war in Gaza, including the demilitarization of the territory and the withdrawal of Israeli forces.F.J./ABD
