Amman, Aug. 4 (SANA)Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesman Fuad al-Majali said Tuesday in a statement posted on the ministry’s account on X that continuedIsraeli attacksand violations in the Gaza Strip againstPalestiniansrepresent a breach of the ceasefire agreement and international law.

Al-Majali said the reported violations, including targeting healthcare facilities and the killing of civilians, children and women, constitute a breach of international humanitarian law. He called for an immediate halt to the violations and for sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to enter Gaza without obstacles.

The spokesman stressed the need to ensure full protection for civilians, medical facilities and humanitarian workers in the Strip.

Al-Majali called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by pressing Israel to meet its obligations under international law and to ensure implementation of all provisions of the U.S. president’s plan forGaza.

He added that these steps are needed to support efforts aimed at restoring stability, achieving a comprehensive de-escalation and reaching a permanent ceasefire.

Jordanalso expressed support for a joint statement issued byQatar,EgyptandTürkiye, which condemned continued Israeli violations in Gaza and backed mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire and stabilize the situation.

The Gaza ceasefire was announced as part of a 20-point plan presented by U.S. President Donald Trump in September 2025 to end the war in the Strip. According to Palestinian Health Ministry figures cited in the report, 1,250 people have been killed and 4,110 others injured since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10.

The report added that the conflict that began on Oct. 7, 2023, has caused extensive destruction to homes and infrastructure and affected basic services in Gaza. It said the ceasefire agreement includes provisions allowing humanitarian and reconstruction-related supplies to enter the Strip.

Trump announced Friday that an agreement had been reached to implement a new phase of his plan, including disarmament in Gaza alongside an Israeli military withdrawal.
