Fête communale 2026 : le Chef de l’Etat burundais célèbre la fête communale avec les natifs de Gitega dans un esprit de convivialité et d’unité.
The President of the Republic of Burundi and President of the Committee of Elders of the CNDD-FDD, His Excellency Évariste Ndayishimiye, joined Bagumyabanga at the party's national office this Monday, August 3, 2026, to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the disappearance of Lieutenant General Adolphe Nshimirimana.
This memorial ceremony was marked by several testimonies highlighting the patriotism, leadership and commitment of the deceased to the service of the Nation.
The speakers praised his career and his attachment to the ideals of peace, security and development of Burundi.
Speaking, the Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD, the Right Honorable Révérien Ndikuriyo, paid a vibrant tribute to Lieutenant-General Adolphe Nshimirimana. He proposed the erection of a tourist monument on Buga Hill in order to preserve its memory, while inviting those responsible to demonstrate exemplary behavior, integrity and constant commitment to serving the population.
In his speech, the Head of State urged leaders to bring an ambitious vision for the development of Burundi, to strengthen the fight against corruption and to consolidate national unity. He also proposed the construction of a Place of the Freedom Fighter Lieutenant-General Adolphe Nshimirimana in Mirango, in homage to his contribution to the history of the country.
Welcoming the climate of peace which prevails as the electoral deadlines approach, President Évariste Ndayishimiye called on the Bagumyabanga to preserve unity, cohesion and solidarity. He insisted on the need for leaders to promote exemplary governance, based on responsibility, patriotism and the resolute fight against corruption, in order to accelerate the sustainable development of Burundi.

Il a également proposé la construction d’une Place du Combattant de la Liberté Lieutenant-Général Adolphe Nshimirimana à Mirango, en hommage à sa contribution à l’histoire du pays. Se réjouissant du climat de paix qui prévaut à l’approche des échéances électorales, le Président Évariste Ndayishimiye a appelé les Bagumyabanga à préserver l’unité, la cohésion et la solidarité. Il a insisté sur la nécessité pour les dirigeants de promouvoir une gouvernance exemplaire, fondée sur la responsabilité, le patriotisme et la lutte résolue contre la corruption, afin d’accélérer le développement durable du Burundi.
