Kuwait, Qatar FMs discuss freedom of navigation in Gulf region
Kuwait City, Aug. 3 (SANA)Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah held a phone call on Monday with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discussregional stabilityand efforts to ensure freedom of navigation, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said.
The talks covered the latest regional developments and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and securing safe and freemaritime navigationin the region, according to a ministry statement on X.
Earlier, Kuwait’s foreign minister held a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan to discussregional developmentsand ways to enhance regional security and stability. The calls come amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to contain tensions following President Trump’s decision to suspend a planned military strike onIran.
Gulf states have been actively coordinating their positions onregional security, particularly regarding freedom of navigation in theStrait of Hormuz, a vital waterway forglobal energysupplies.
