El Consejo Nacional de la Magistratura aprueba cronograma de trabajo para el proceso de evaluación de jueces de la Suprema Corte de Justicia
Santo Domingo.-The National Council of the Judiciary (CNM), headed by President Luis Abinader, held a session this Monday during which the schedule that will govern the next stages of the performance evaluation process of the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, whose constitutional period ended on April 3 of this year, was approved.
The purpose of the approval of the schedule is to organize the stages of the process in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic and Law No. 138-11, Organic of the National Council of the Judiciary, to guarantee due process and compliance with the corresponding deadlines.
The other members of the National Council of the Judiciary participated in the work session: the president of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos; the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco, who connected virtually; Senator Omar Fernández; deputy Tobías Crespo; the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Luis Henry Molina; the judge of the Supreme Court of Justice and secretary of the CNM, Nancy Salcedo, and the president of the Constitutional Court, Napoleón Estévez.
All members were present, so that the legal quorum required for this first session was respected.
With the approval of this schedule, the CNM begins the organization of the work that will lead to the evaluation process of the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, in compliance with the constitutional mandates and the principles that the same law establishes.
At the end of the session, Judge Nancy Salcedo, secretary of the CNM, and the Minister of Justice, Antoliano Peralta Romero, offered brief statements, in which they announced the start of the provisional work schedule from August 7 to October 23, 2026, including a second phase of applications open to the public, once possible vacancies have been determined.
They clarified that the schedule may be modified as the work progresses. They also reported on the decision of the National Council of the Judiciary that performance evaluation interviews be carried out publicly, as established in article 4 of Regulation 2-25 of the CNM.
They also communicated the personal decision of the presiding judge of the Supreme Court of Justice, Luis Henry Molina, as well as of Judge Salcedo herself, not to opt for a next term as judges of the Supreme Court of Justice.

Estuvieron presentes todos los miembros, de tal manera quese respetó elquorumlegalexigido para esta primera sesión. Con la aprobación de este cronograma, el CNM da inicio a la organización de las labores que conducirán alproceso de evaluaciónde los jueces de la Suprema Corte de Justicia, en cumplimiento con los mandatos constitucionales y los principios que la misma ley establece. Al final de la sesión, la magistrada Nancy Salcedo, secretaria del CNM, y el ministro de Justicia,Antoliano Peralta Romero, ofrecieron unasbreves declaraciones, en las que anunciaron el inicio delcronograma de trabajo provisional a partir del 7 de agosto y hasta el 23 de octubre de 2026, incluyendo unasegunda fase de postulaciones abiertas al público, una vez se hayan determinado posibles vacantes. Aclararon que el cronograma puede sufrir modificaciones según vayan avanzando los trabajos. También informaron sobre la decisión del Consejo Nacional de la Magistratura de quelas entrevistasde evaluaciones de desempeñose realicen de manera pública, según lo establecido en elartículo 4 del Reglamento 2-25 del CNM. Igualmente comunicaron ladecisión personaldel magistrado presidente de la Suprema Corte de Justicia,Luis Henry Molina, así como de la propiamagistrada Salcedo, deno optar por un próximo períodocomo jueces de la Suprema Corte de Justicia.
