Syria competes in International Nuclear Science Olympiad in Saudi Arabia

Jeddah, Aug. 3 (SANA)Syria is taking part in the 2026 International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO), which opened in the Saudi city ofJeddahon Monday, bringing together participants from 19 countries.

TheSyrian Atomic Energy Commissionsaid the country’s national team is competing alongside 120 students and specialists, with support from supervisors and researchers from the commission.

According to the commission, the Syrian delegation completed several weeks of preparatory training in cooperation with the Distinction and Creativity Agency.

The commission saidSyria‘s participation reflects efforts to strengthen its presence in international scientific events while developing young talent in the peaceful uses of nuclear technology and its applications in sustainable development and technological innovation.

The International Nuclear Science Olympiad, established under the auspices of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 2024, aims to promote the safe and peaceful use of nuclear science and encourage students to pursue careers and innovation in the field.kA.ABD
