Gold prices rise by 200 Syrian pounds in Syria’s local market
Damascus, Aug. 3 (SANA)The price of 21-karat gold in Syria’s local market rose by 200 Syrian pounds (SYP) on Monday compared with the previous day’s level, according to the latest pricing bulletin.
The General Directorate forPrecious Metals Managementsaid the selling price of one gram of 21-karat gold reached 15,000 SYP, while the buying price stood at 14,700 SYP.
The selling price of 18-karat gold was 12,900 SYP per gram, while the buying price was 12,600 SYP.
Theglobal gold pricestood at $4,059 per ounce.
The General Directorate for Precious Metals Management was established in Syria on Feb. 12, 2025, to regulate and develop the gold and precious metals sector, strengthen its role in the national economy and oversee gold pricing mechanisms through goldsmith associations across the country.
