Israeli occupation forces kill nine Palestinians in Gaza, detain 18 in West Bank raids
Occupied Jerusalem, Aug. 2 (SANA)Nine Palestinians were killed and several others wounded inIsraeli occupation forcesattacks across theGaza Stripon Sunday, while Israeli forces and settlers continued raids, detentions, home demolitions and attacks onPalestiniansand their property across the occupiedWest Bank, according to Palestinian media.The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that two Palestinians were killed and several others wounded when an Israeli drone struck a group of people in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood northwest of Gaza City. In a separate drone strike in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, one Palestinian was killed and two others were injured.Three Palestinians, including a child, were killed after an Israeli strike targeted an apartment in the al-Mawasi area of al-Qarara, northwest of Khan Younis.In Gaza City’s al-Sabra neighborhood, one Palestinian was killed and several others were wounded in an Israeli strike, while two more Palestinians were killed in an airstrike targeting a house in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood southwest of the city.Israeli shelling also destroyed a warehouse containing medicines and medical supplies at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, causing extensive damage to the facility and nearby tents sheltering displaced people and forcing dozens of families to flee, WAFA reported.In the West Bank, Israeli forces detained 18 Palestinians duringraidsin several areas.According to Palestinian media, 11 Palestinian workers were detained in the village of Khashm al-Daraj in the Masafer Yatta area of Hebron province after Israeli forces pursued and assaulted them.Israeli forces also carried out raids in the towns and villages of Einabus, Burqa and Asira al-Shamaliya in Nablus province, detaining several Palestinians and converting a house into a temporary field interrogation center.Three more Palestinians, including two children, were arrested in Wadi Fukin west of Bethlehem, at the Container military checkpoint and in the town of Tammun southeast of Tubas.Israeli authorities also ordered three Palestinians in the town of Beit Jala to demolish their own homes, while issuing a notice to seize and evacuate a family home in the village of Tell near Nablus ahead of its planned demolition.Meanwhile, Israeli settlers continued attacks on Palestinians and their property in several parts of the occupied West Bank.Palestinian media reported that several Palestinians were injured in Ramallah, Hebron and Jenin after settlers assaulted residents, used pepper spray in the areas of al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah, attacked a Palestinian man and his wife in the village of Beitillu, burned a vehicle and spray-painted racist slogans in the town of Surif. Settlers also attacked Palestinian homes and vehicles in several locations and damaged agricultural land in the town of Arraba in Jenin province.On Saturday, two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike on Gaza City, while three Palestinian youths were injured in separate settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian reports.R.D/ABD
