Pakistan welcomes Trump-brokered Gaza agreement, urges full implementation

Islamabad, Aug. 2 (SANA)Pakistanon Saturday welcomedU.S. President Donald Trump‘s announcement of an agreement to implement a new phase of his plan to end the war in theGaza Strip, including the disarmament of the territory alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in a statement that Pakistan appreciated the efforts of the mediating countries, including theUnited States, Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye, expressing hope that the latest developments would lead to the full implementation of all commitments outlined in theGaza peace plan.

“Pakistan believes these efforts should help advance the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination through a credible, time-bound political process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state withJerusalemas its capital”, spokesperson added.

Trump announced on Friday that an agreement had been reached on Gaza, describing it as a major step toward achieving lasting peace and security and paving the way for the transfer of governance in the territory to a new Palestinian government working in coordination with thePeace Councilto support thePalestinian people.
