Brentford complete club-record signing of Mamadou Sangaré

London, Aug. 2 (SANA)Premier League club Brentford have completed the signing of Malian midfielder Mamadou Sangaré fromFrench club Lensin a club-record deal worth €45 million.

In a statement, Brentford confirmed that the 24-year-old has become the most expensive signing in the club’s history, surpassing the previous record set by Dango Ouattara, who joined last summer for €43 million.

Sangaré arrives after an impressive campaign with Lens, where he played a key role in the club’s second-place finish in Ligue 1 and its French Cup triumph. He scored three goals and provided four assists in 33 appearances during his first season with the club.

The midfielder joined Lens for €13 million last summer, with his move toBrentfordmore than tripling that transfer fee within a year.

The deal comes amid record-breaking spending across the Premier League, with eight clubs reportedly setting new transfer records during the current summer transfer window.
