Happy to join residents yesterday for the reopening of Fuchun Community Club. The CC traces its roots to Hock Choon Village Community Centre, one of the People’s Association’s earliest rural community centres, opened by then Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew in 1962. Its history mirrors Singapore’s own journey — growing and improving over the years, while remaining firmly anchored in the community. It was heartening to see community organisations, partners and students showcasing ideas to strengthen bonds and improve lives. This is what makes a community club special — a place where the spirit of gotong royong comes alive every day. Building a better home is a shared responsibility. The Government can provide the infrastructure and support. But it is people coming together, caring for one another and contributing to the community that truly makes a place feel like home. 🔗 : https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbhvRetveN-/?igsh=bnM1ZTU1eHpjN3F1
