Quneitra, Aug. 2 (SANA)Israeli forces advanced on Sunday along the al-Hiran–al-Rafid road in the southern countryside ofQuneitraGovernorate in southwest Syria, where they established a temporary checkpoint and searched civilians and passing vehicles.
SANA’s reporter in Quneitra said that the force, consisting of three military vehicles, set up the checkpoint during the incursion and searched pedestrians and passing vehicles before remaining in the area.
The development follows a similar Israeli incursion on Saturday into the village of al-Ajraf in the northern countryside of Quneitra Governorate, whereIsraeli forcesestablished a temporary checkpoint, searched civilians and installed a large surveillance camera before dismantling it and withdrawing.
Another Israeli force also entered the Wadi al-Raqad area in the western countryside ofDaraaGovernorate on Saturday, establishing a temporary checkpoint at the Wadi al-Raqad bridge and searching a residential house before withdrawing without making any arrests.
Israel has continued to violate the1974 Disengagement Agreementthrough repeated military incursions into southern Syria, the establishment of military checkpoints, raids on civilian homes, arrests, land bulldozing and shelling.
Syria has repeatedly called for Israel’s withdrawal from Syrian territory, maintaining that all measures taken by the Israeli authorities in the occupied areas are null and void under international law and urging the international community to assume its responsibilities and ensure Israel’s full withdrawal from southern Syria.R.H/R.K
