Damascus, Aug. 2 (SANA)Four people were killed and 50 others injured in 41traffic accidentsacross Syria over the past 48 hours, according to theSyrian Civil Defense.

Emergency teams responded to 21 traffic accidents during the first 24-hour period, which claimed four lives and left 25 people injured. Over the following 24 hours, Civil Defense crews attended another 20 traffic accidents that resulted in 25 additional injuries.

In both reporting periods, rescue teams provided first aid to the injured before transferring them to hospitals for further treatment. They also cleared accident debris and secured the affected sites.

During the same period, Civil Defense firefighters responded to 263 fires across Syria. Thefires, which included blazes in homes, commercial properties, vegetation, trees, electrical cables and waste sites, were extinguished without any reported civilian injuries. Damage was limited to material losses.

The Civil Defense renewed its call for the public to avoid lighting fires in forests and agricultural areas, refrain from discarding cigarette butts or glass bottles along roadsides, particularly near farmland and wooded areas, and avoid burning dry vegetation around homes or roads. Residents were urged to remove dry grass and other combustible materials using safe methods to help reduce the risk of wildfires.
