President Masoud Pezeshkian praises the Iranian people as the country’s “real heroes,” saying they will shape Iran’s future.

Pezeshkian made the remark in a post on X on Saturday, elaborating on the challenges his administration has faced since taking office two years ago.

He said his tenure began with the assassination of a "dear guest" by the Israeli regime, referring to Ismail Haniyeh, former head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, who was assassinated in an attack in the Iranian capital Tehran in July 2024.

"Two years ago, the start of our work coincided with the assassination of our dear guest by the Zionist regime," he added.

Pezeshkian emphasized that wars, pressure, and successive acts of hostilities have been imposed on the Iranian people during the two-year period.

“Throughout all these difficult days, the real heroes were the people,” he wrote.

He emphasized that despite the challenges and difficulties, the Iranian people remain the key force determining the country’s future.

"Iran's future will be shaped by its people," Pezeshkian pointed out.

Since the beginning of Pezeshkian’s tenure, Iran has endured a series of wars of aggression imposed by the United States and the Israeli regime, including the 12-day war in June 2025 and the 40-day war, as well as ongoing US attacks on Iranian soil since earlier in July.

Iranian armed forces have delivered a firm response to the acts of aggression by pounding US and Israeli assets across the region during the past year.

Meanwhile, Iranians have voiced support for their country's defensive strikes by holding nightly gatherings across all provinces since the US-Israeli aggression began on February 28.

Furthermore, over 31 million Iranians have registered in the "Janfada" campaign, saying they are ready to sacrifice their lives for their country.
