Kyiv / Moscow, August 1 (SANA)RussiaandUkraineexchanged a series of large-scale, simultaneous strikes targeting logistics facilities, oil infrastructure, command centers and drone sites, as fighting continued to escalate on multiple fronts.The head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Natalia Zabolotna, said in a statement carried by the National News Agency of Ukraine (Ukrinform) on Saturday that a Russian attack targeted a Nova Poshta branch in the Vinnytsia region, injuring five people.Zabolotna said the attack marked the fifth strike on a Nova Poshta sorting center in the Dniprovskyi District of Dnipro, in south-central Ukraine.Meanwhile, the Ukrainian General Staff announced that Ukrainian defense forces carried out an overnight strike on the Volgograd Refinery, one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation, with a refining capacity of about 15 million tons per year. The facility produces gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian General Staff said the attack caused a fire at the refinery. It added that Ukrainian forces also targeted the Russian Pole-21 electronic warfare system in the Luhansk region, as well as an ammunition depot in the Naumivka area and a command center in Bakhmut.In response, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement carried by Sputnik on Saturday that it had carried out large-scale strikes on military-industrial facilities and logistics centers in and aroundKyiv, which it said were used to store and manufacture drones, radar systems and electronic warfare equipment.The ministry also said Russian air defense systems shot down 274 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk and Volgograd, as well as over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.According to Russian figures, more than 21,000 Ukrainian drones were shot down during July alone. The ministry said the highest daily totals were recorded on July 24 and 25, when 937 and 1,060 drones were reportedly intercepted, respectively.The latest exchange of strikes reflects the widening scope of military operations between the two sides. Ukraine has focused on targeting Russian oil and logistics infrastructure, whileMoscowhas intensified strikes on drone production facilities and weapons depots in and around Kyiv, alongside extensive drone interception operations.The latest developments indicate a continued escalation of the conflict, with both sides increasingly targeting each other’s logistical infrastructure, resulting in direct impacts on civilian and military facilities across multiple areas.
