Capitals, Aug 1 (SANA)Qatar,Kuwait, and the United Kingdom have welcomed US PresidentDonald Trump’s announcement of an agreement to implement a new phase of his plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

The agreement includes the disarmament of the Strip concurrent with the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

The three countries emphasized the importance of full commitment to the agreement’s implementation, which would help end the suffering of thePalestinian peopleand pave the way for lasting peace.

In a statement issued on Friday, theQatari Ministry of Foreign Affairsconfirmed that the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, expressed during a phone call with Hamas Political Bureau Chief Khalil al-Hayya, his hope that the agreement would mark a step toward ending the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and achieving security and stability.

He stressed the necessity for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and pressure Israel to fulfill its obligations and halt its violations against Palestinians, ensuring the completion of the roadmap to achieve peace and stability in the Strip.

In a similar vein, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the agreement in a parallel statement, commending the efforts exerted by Egypt, Qatar,Türkiye, and the United States, alongside other concerned parties, to reach this outcome.

Kuwait renewed its commitment to supporting the full implementation of the peace plan and its subsequent phases, which include the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid, supporting reconstruction efforts, and the return of the Palestinian Authority to the Strip.

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry further stressed the importance of the agreement serving as a launchpad for a comprehensive political process that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital.

For his part, UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband affirmed his country’s continued efforts to end the war in theGaza Strip.

He stressed the necessity of reaching a sustainable solution and called on Israel to immediately lift restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid, allowing food, medicine, and humanitarian support to reach the population, describing the humanitarian conditions in the Strip as “dire.”
