Para contribuir al desarrollo sostenible del turismo, el presidente Abinader inaugura planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales en beneficio de Juan Dolio y Guayacanes
San Pedro de Macorís.-President Luis Abinader, together with the Minister of TourismDavid Collado, inaugurated a new wastewater treatment plant that will have a great impact on the population of the communities of Juan Dolio and Guayacanes, by contributing to the sustainable development of these tourist spots.
Works like these make it possible to raise the quality of life of the community, since they promote health, well-being and development, thanks to their ability to process water and return it to its environment with fewer contaminants.
The head of state communicated the importance of continuing to bring these works to the coastal and beach areas, which is why, he reported, together with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), another wastewater treatment plant is planned to begin next September in Boca Chica, and will later be extended to places such as Higüey and Verón.
In this same scenario, and with great joy on the part of the community members present, President Abinader announced that the Government is working on a project to deliver property titles in Guayacanes.
For his part, David Collado highlighted that the project delivered today, whose first works were carried out about 20 years ago, was classified as a priority by the Tourism Cabinet chaired by President Luis Abinader.
“This is the vision of the Tourism Cabinet: the continuity of the State, sustainability, by preventing all wastewater from flowing into the beaches of Juan Dolio, and the commitment to transparency,” said the official.
This project, in accordance with current environmental regulations, includes the authorization, adaptation and commissioning of the wastewater treatment plant and the execution of complementary works necessary to guarantee its correct operation, safety and accessibility.
As a priority, maintenance and repair of the main components of the treatment system were carried out, including clarifiers, trickling filters, sieve towers, disinfection modules, sludge systems and pumping equipment, as well as the installation of an electromagnetic flow meter and the replacement of the bypass valve to the old plant.
It also included the cleaning and conditioning of the plant area and its surroundings, the improvement of the access road, lighting and signage, the enabling of electrical installations and repair of the electric generator.
Likewise, as part of the work, sanitary interconnection works, strengthening of the perimeter enclosure and adaptation of the operational areas were carried out. The project culminates with the start-up of the system, the verification of the quality parameters of the treated water and the training of operational personnel. The investment for this work was RD 37,082,237.

En este mismo escenario, y con gran alegría por parte de los comunitarios presentes, el presidente Abinader anunció que el Gobierno está trabajando en unproyecto para entregar títulos de propiedad en Guayacanes. De su lado, David Collado resaltó que el proyecto hoy entregado, cuyos primeros trabajos se llevaron a cabo hace unos 20 años, fue calificado como unaprioridad por el Gabinete de Turismo que preside el mandatario Luis Abinader. “Esta es la visión del Gabinete de Turismo: la continuidad de Estado, la sostenibilidad, al evitar que todas las aguas residuales desemboquen en las playas de Juan Dolio, y el compromiso con la transparencia”,expresó el funcionario. Este proyecto, acorde con lasnormas ambientales vigentes, comprende la habilitación, adecuación ypuesta en funcionamiento de la estación depuradora de aguas residualesy la ejecución deobras complementariasnecesarias para garantizar su correcta operación, seguridad y accesibilidad. De manera prioritaria, se efectuó el mantenimiento y reparación de los principales componentes del sistema de tratamiento, incluyendo clarificadores, filtros percoladores, torres de tamices, módulos de desinfección, sistemas de lodos y equipos de bombeo, así como la instalación de un medidor de flujo electromagnético y la sustitución de la válvula debypasshacia la planta antigua. También incluyó la limpieza y acondicionamiento del área de la planta y su entorno, el mejoramiento de la vía de acceso, iluminación y señalización, la habilitación de las instalaciones eléctricas y reparación del generador eléctrico. Asimismo, como parte de la obra, se ejecutaron trabajos de interconexión sanitaria, fortalecimiento del cerramiento perimetral y adecuación de las áreas operativas. El proyecto culmina con la puesta en marcha del sistema, la verificación de los parámetros de calidad del agua tratada y la capacitación del personal operativo.La inversión de esta obra fue de RD 37,082,237.
