Drug Enforcement Department seizes 56,000 Captagon pills in Tartous
Tartous, July 31 (SANA)Syria’sDrug Enforcement Department(DED) arrested two suspected drug traffickers and seized 56,000 Captagon pills in Tartous province following an operation targeting drug trafficking and distribution.
The Department said in a statement on Friday that the arrests followed close surveillance of the suspects’ movements and activities. A security operation led to the arrest of the two suspects, identified by their initials as K.H. and N.M., while they were in possession of 56,000 Captagon pills intended for distribution.
The seized narcotics were confiscated, and legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects, who were referred to the competent judicial authorities to complete the investigation and take the necessary legal measures.
The operation is part of the DED’s ongoing efforts to pursue drug traffickers and dealers, dismantle trafficking networks, and protect public security.
