I ended my tour in Negeri Sembilan in Rompin to give support to an old friend who is also a reformist, brother Manivanan Gowin who is a candidate for HOPE in Jeram Padang. HARAPAN stakes a clean administrative record, resolves various legacy issues, upholds the teachings of Islam, safeguards the rights of the Malays and defends the welfare of other races. Our opponents, on the other hand, choose to incite hatred and racism, fan anti-Chinese sentiments, and dispute the loyalty of Chinese and Indians to this country. The fact is that the measure of "maintaining the Malays" is not based on who's rhetoric and screams are louder. What is the point of winning cheerleading if an agency that is completely managed by Malay leaders, is betrayed by the Malay leaders themselves to the point of losing and owing billions of ringgit due to mismanagement and misuse of position to enrich themselves and their families. The question is not race or skin color, but integrity, ability and sincerity to look after the welfare of the people. Therefore at the end of this election campaign, I appeal to the people of Negeri Sembilan to make a choice based on the performance and capability of the HARAPAN team which has been proven under the leadership of brother Aminuddin Harun. I also appeal to my brothers and sisters not to give victory to the politics of hatred and racism. May Allah SWT lead the hearts and judgment of the people of Negeri Sembilan to choose a clean, trustworthy administration that really works for the future of this state. Saya mengakhiri jelajah di Negeri Sembilan di Rompin untuk memberi dukungan kepada sahabat lama yang juga pejuang reformasi, saudara Manivanan Gowin yang menjadi calon HARAPAN di Jeram Padang. HARAPAN mempertaruhkan rekod pentadbiran yang bersih, menyelesaikan pelbagai isu-isu legasi, memartabat syiar Islam, menjaga hak orang Melayu serta membela kebajikan kaum-kaum lain. Lawan kita pula memilih untuk menghasut kebencian dan perkauman, meniup sentimen anti Cina, serta mempertikai kesetiaan orang Cina dan India terhadap tanah air ini. Hakikatnya ukuran “menjaga Melayu” bukan pada retorik dan jeritan siapa yang lebih kuat. Apa gunanya menang sorak jika agensi yang diuruskan sepenuhnya pemimpin Melayu, dikhianati pemimpin Melayu itu sendiri hingga rugi dan berhutang berbilion ringgit akibat salah urus dan salah guna kedudukan untuk memperkaya diri dan keluarga. Soalnya bukan kaum atau warna kulit, tetapi integriti, keupayaan dan keikhlasan mejaga kebajikan rakyat. Justeru di akhir kempen pilihan raya ini, saya merayu kepada rakyat Negeri Sembilan untuk membuat pilihan berdasarkan prestasi dan keupayaan pasukan HARAPAN yang telah dibuktikan di bawah pimpinan saudara Aminuddin Harun. Saya juga merayu saudara saudari untuk tidak memberi kemenangan kepada politik kebencian dan perkauman. Semoga Allah SWT memimpin hati dan pertimbangan rakyat Negeri Sembilan untuk memilih pentadbiran yang bersih, amanah dan benar-benar bekerja demi masa depan negeri ini.
