Intrant inaugura en Monte Plata primera oficina de licencias de conducir para beneficiar a más de 52,000 ciudadanos
Monte Plata.– The National Institute of Traffic and Land Transportation (Intrant) inaugurated the first driver's license office in the Monte Plata province, an initiative that will directly benefit 52,792 citizens, according to the 2025 Vehicle Park Report of the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII).
The event was led by the executive director of Intrant, Milton Morrison, together with the civil governor of Monte Plata, Rafaela Javier Gomera; the mayor of the municipality of Monte Plata, Héctor Rafael Figari Moreno; provincial and municipal authorities, representatives of the Digesett, the transportation sector, special guests and members of the press.
During the activity, Morrison highlighted that the opening of this office responds to the commitment to continue strengthening citizen access to Intranty services and continue expanding the new national driver's license system.
"With the opening of this office we continue to fulfill our commitment to bring Intrant services closer to the people. Today Monte Plata has, for the first time, a licensing office in its province, which represents time savings, greater convenience and a more efficient service. We will continue to expand the coverage of the new national licensing system so that more and more Dominicans can access a modern, secure document with international quality standards," said Morrison.
For her part, the provincial governor, Rafaela Javier Gomera, valued the start-up of the office and stated that it represents an important step for the development of Monte Plata and the decentralization of public services.
"This opening responds to a long-standing need of our people. Today the citizens of Monte Plata will be able to carry out their licensing procedures without having to travel to other provinces, which means more opportunities, time savings and better quality in the care they receive," said the representative of the Executive Branch in the province.
After the ribbon cutting, the authorities toured the facilities and witnessed the issuance and delivery of the first driver's licenses issued in the province, marking a milestone for Monte Plata.
The new office, located on Julio Abreu Cuello Street, almost on the corner of San Antonio Street, has the capacity to issue up to 200 driver's licenses per day and will offer issuance, renewal and duplication services for driver's licenses, including motorcycle licenses and attention to members of the National Police, from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. m. to 4:00 p.m. m.
In addition, it has areas for registration, biometric capture, theoretical exams, medical evaluations, practical motorcycle tests, printing and delivery of licenses.
Users will receive the new driver's license, made of polycarbonate and incorporating advanced security measures, including laser engraving, holograms, elements visible under ultraviolet light and biometric data, in addition to complying with the international standard ISO/IEC 18013-5, which guarantees greater security, durability and protection of the driver's identity.
This opening is part of the expansion process of the new national driver's license system, through which Intrant continues to expand the coverage of its services in the 32 districts of the country, strengthening more modern, safe and efficient care for all citizens.

Hoy Monte Plata cuenta, por primera vez, con una oficina de licencias en su provincia, lo que representa ahorro de tiempo, mayor comodidad y un servicio más eficiente. Continuaremos ampliando la cobertura del nuevo sistema nacional de licencias para que cada vez más dominicanos puedan acceder a un documento moderno, seguro y con estándares internacionales de calidad”,expresó Morrison. De su lado, la gobernadora provincial,Rafaela Javier Gomera, valoró la puesta en funcionamiento de la oficina y afirmó que esta representa unpaso importante para el desarrollo de Monte Platay la descentralización de los servicios públicos. “Esta apertura responde a una necesidad de muchos años de nuestra gente. Hoy los ciudadanos de Monte Plata podrán realizar sus trámites de licencias sin tener que trasladarse a otras provincias, lo que significa más oportunidades, ahorro de tiempo y una mejor calidad en la atención que reciben”,manifestó la representante del Poder Ejecutivo en la provincia. Tras el corte de cinta, las autoridades realizaron un recorrido por las instalaciones y presenciaron la emisión y entrega de las primeras licencias de conducir expedidas en la provincia, marcando un hito para Monte Plata. La nueva oficina, ubicada en la calle Julio Abreu Cuello, casi esquina calle San Antonio, tiene capacidad para emitirhasta 200 licencias de conducir por díay ofrecerá servicios deemisión, renovación y duplicadode licencias de conducir, incluyendo licencias para motocicletas y atención a miembros de la Policía Nacional, en horario de lunes a viernes, de 8:00 a. m. a 4:00 p. m. Además, dispone de áreas para registro, captura biométrica, exámenes teóricos, evaluaciones médicas, pruebas prácticas para motocicletas, impresión y entrega de licencias. Los usuarios recibirán la nueva licencia de conducir, elaborada en policarbonato e incorporando avanzadas medidas de seguridad, entre ellas grabado láser, hologramas, elementos visibles bajo luz ultravioleta y datos biométricos, además de cumplir con el estándar internacionalISO/IEC 18013-5, que garantiza mayor seguridad, durabilidad y protección de la identidad del conductor. Esta apertura forma parte del proceso deexpansión del nuevo sistema nacional de licencias de conducir, mediante el cual el Intrant continúa ampliando la cobertura de sus servicios en las 32 demarcaciones del país, fortaleciendo unaatención más moderna, segura y eficientepara todos los ciudadanos.
